In our EXPRESS YOURSELF chuggim, we explore different artists throughout history, and learn how each has contributed to art as we know it today. Often, we use the style of a particular artist as a springboard for our own projects.
By introducing children to a variety of artistic styles, EXPRESS YOURSELF strives to instill in each student an understanding that there is no "right way" or "wrong way" to create art. In our supportive environment, our young artists learn to recognize their own talents and skills, believe in themselves, and flourish.
Some of our classes focus more on the process of art-making, which may not result in a “beautiful” take-home piece but will help your children develop their own styles and perspectives. Most weeks, however, your children will be working on their own “masterpieces,” so be sure to clear some space on your wall!
Explorers: Gan Chova / Kita Alef
From their first lesson on the color wheel, to exploring the works of Piet Mondrian and Claude Monet, these young artists really bloom! We learn the basics: (primary and secondary colors; complimentary colors; horizon lines; perspective, and more...) and use these techniques to create meaningful pieces.
Classes are kept fun, engaging, and educational, while the children are challenged to work at their fullest potential.

Similar to the younger group in practice, this class is composed of older children, and thus, we are able to explore a bit deeper. More art history is offered through books, videos, and artwork samples.
I encourage the students to focus on positive self-talk, and invite them to support their fellow classmates if they are struggling. I love to witness the children develop their own artistic styles.
Private & Semi-Private Classes
We also provide private art lessons & Art Therapy sessions, as well as semi-private (up to three students) art classes.
These classes are more child-driven and tailored to the specific needs, desires, and interests of each specific child.
